PROJECT: Repair of Failed Bridge Abutments at Abudu Community, Orhionmwon L.G.A., Edo State
PROJECT LOCATION:
The project is located at Abudu Community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project involved the rehabilitation and stabilization of failed bridge abutments through the application of durable erosion-control and structural reinforcement measures, including:
- Deployment of gabion baskets and reno mattresses.
- Use of hardcore materials of varying sizes (200mm downward) to fill the gabion baskets and reno mattresses.
- Careful squaring and plumbing of the filled units to ensure stability and firmness.
- Construction of retaining walls around the bridge abutments to restore structural integrity and prevent further erosion.
PROJECT STATUS:
Completed – August 2024.
